The plentiful returning salmon attract an abundant amount of wildlife for us to view. Let our guide regale you with stories, local knowledge and history of the area. This tour is great for people of all ages.

We travel shoreline and estuaries in search of the majestic black bear.  With the largest population of bears per square kilometer in North America and the beauty of the west coast this trip is magnificent.  Spring and summer time bears are feeding on sedge grasses and sea life, horse clams, green crabs and pretty much anything they can find that is green and fresh.

In the fall from mid August until mid November, bears continue to feeding on the same food, but they are increasingly interested in an abundant new food source - salmon. At this exciting time of year we get to paddle with thousands of salmon returning to spawn. These large fish congregate in the Ucluelet inlet at the heads of rivers awaiting the perfect conditions. It is there that we get to view nature in all its glory. Salmon as large as 50+ pounds swim undisturbed beneath our kayaks while eagles, martins, ravens and Black bears feed  around the clock to prepare for the coming winter.
